So tomorrow is the walk for RSD. I am already feeling kinda nervous and emotional about it. I’m trying to finish my paper for school that is due tomorrow because I don’t know how I am going to feel later on after the walk to do it then. The problem is I can’t really focus on it right now. Its an emotional roller coaster for me. I am excited. But I am crying I think because I really don’t know what to expect for tomorrow. I think I’m actually nervous about what’s ahead of me tomorrow. At the same time though I am so very grateful that I am walking for this yes with crutches, and I also got a little scooter to help me if I can’t walk anymore. So many things are going through my head right now. First, the crazy long year I have had. Second, the fact that I am getting better. Third, the hellish condition that has put me in this walk. Fourth, the amazing love and support from my parents, my sister, future brother in law, dog, my aunts, uncle, cousins, friends, strangers! Fifth, the people who suffer from RSD who are in worse shape than I am! Sixth, I am still in pain but getting better! Seventh, the crazy things that have come out of this. Eighth, I can’t stop thinking about how lucky I am!!!!
Sunday was the last day and night of the trip.
It was a nice week of time spent with my dad, a ton of rehabbing, great dinners, and great weather!
That afternoon my mom’s old friend who we call Uncle Ray-Ray came from Fort Lauderdale to take us out for lunch. We got to catch up and have a few million laughs!
Later that night instead of cuban we went to a wonderful greek restaurant called Milos. The service is SO nice and the food delish!
It was a great end to a great week! 🙂
I’m thinking, perhaps while I’m in school I’ll make a trip to miami every month or so! It really is great!
My overall health
My wonderful parents!
My supportive sister
My dog Roxie
My physical therapist
Doing great in school!
I am walking!!!
Lessons to learn
Ability to evolve
Everything happens for a reason
Every day is a new day
This trip has been great! I’m having a great time with my dad and going to great restaurants, ishenjoying the beautiful sun, and working out!
Last night I did indeed go to Red for dinner! It never disappoints!
The menu is like a heavy bible it’s so great!
First they serve Ahhh-MAY–ZING bread and oil! !My dad and I shared the porterhouse and a few amazing sides of broccoli with garlic mushrooms, and garlic fries—- yum!!!!
We devoured it! Obviously we finished off with delicious dessert, chocolate Molten cake with a scoop of vanilla gelato omg to die for! I wish I had taken pictures to relive that again and again!
Tonight we went to the gorgeous restaurant Villa Azur. Beautiful ambience, great food a DJ and fabulous indoor lounge feel and also has really nice outdoor garden seating. I had a great rigatoni in garlic and oil so good! And we shared Grilled asparagus my dad got a nice fish.
Now we still had a nice time and because of everything good about it I would go back. Now With that being said,
The entire time we were there it felt rushed. It really wasn’t too busy there so no high turnover but the waiter just kept grabbing things off the table while we were still eating and taking our time- now I’m really not a huge pest of a customer but as someone who has worked with customers that is really poor service!
I will write it on yelp I hope they change that approach otherwise they’ll have some unhappy customers piling up if they don’t already.
Another great night nonetheless was had 🙂 I am so lucky!
Tomorrow is our last day and night may get some Cuban food! 🙂
~Here’s to great times!
Last night was at this nice restaurant called JUVIA.
It a really cool asian rooftop restaurant on Lincoln rd. you can see everything its really nice!
It’s nice special place with a DJ and has a romantic lounge feel.
In other news, I finally chopped my hair off to donate it!
The funny thing is since my hair is curly with layers its not all 8 inches. But I have a lot of hair so I was able to donate two ponytails!
My hair is pretty short now but i think I like it 🙂
Anyway today is a beautiful day of about 90 degrees!
So far today had a great lunch at Deco Blue in the Marriott hotel.
Hanging in the sun a bit right now. Tonight It might be time for steak at my favorite steak place Red.!
Still working on my walking!!!
*Next Sunday June 30 RSD walk!!*
Wow thank you to all my visitors and followers, it looks like I am almost at 80 followers!
I hope my rambling is entertaining, relatable, or inspiring 🙂
It’s another beautiful sunny day in Miami!
I slept in this morning but I am on a little vacation after all, so its allowed!
For breakfast I had a nice bowl of oatmeal with some delicious blueberries and black grapes. I am trying to remove using sweeteners so the fruit applied to oatmeal added natural sweetness.
In a bit I’m going to hit the terrace for a nice stretch. When I say stretch I incorporate PT moves, strength training, planks, yoga, crunches, squats, etc. but depending on how my body foot and leg feels I modify.
Then I plan on going for a walk.
Yesterday I went walking with my dad he might have helped me come up with a more beneficial approach. He had me walking in intervals. And in between I stop, stretch, take a break, and then get back to work. I plan on trying this today.
This could help me for the walk!!! 🙂
I am writing on a fabulous terrace! I just finished a great workout out here and now I am lounging while catching some beautiful rays.
Last night was chill I took the time to finish my psychology final.
Tonight I’m not sure yet what the plan is. I would like to at some point go to Espanola Way. for those who dont know it, Espanola way is a little area a strip of great spanish restaurants it’s so cute there.
I am getting a massage tonight though so well see.
I would also love to go the art center on Lincoln Rd but it involves a lot of walking not sure I can do that.
It’s so beautiful out! This time I’m here and I feel again like I still live here. Like I have all the time in the world to do things.
I know, I have a lot of things to consider but I have time, until then I keep pushing to get better and finish school.
Enjoy your day!
