I have some news. Yesterday I had a followup appointment with my pain management doctor. It went well. This is a visit that I went without that gnawing feeling in my stomach, and for good reason! My doctor used the word gone! He thinks my RSD might be gone!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been weaning off my medicine and I have some symptoms but they don’t last longterm. I’m still working hard and still need my physical therapy but he is very happy with what he sees.
I am so frekin lucky its scary! I am so grateful! I still need to push more with exercising and working through pain, and on wearing other shoes but I will not stop!
I thank God!
And I am thankful to my amazing family and friends for the amazing support, thoughts, and prayers!
I wanted to welcome and shout out to my visitors and followers new and old!
I am always happy to hear if reading my blog has helped someone in some way or another!
I use my blog to let things out and to show gratitude to the universe. I use it to share my passions and experiences. I use it to share my thoughts and emotions. I share my appreciations. I share my goals and affirmations. I share my mistakes and struggles. I share my successes.
I truly hope my sharing helps others. I believe it is an important part of our being to help others so that they can also help others.
On Wednesday at the hospital I spent time with a few babies.
I spent time with this precious 6month old boy who has been by himself every time I see him. He was very squirmy I got him to focus on a shaker toy. He seemed to like it. I also spent time with my little 2 year old boy who had the surgery Tuesday afternoon. He was out of it the poor thing but I got him to smile a bit. I also visited a 6 month old baby boy and his mom for a bit. Quite a few of the children I was assigned to visit had rough nights and or procedures so they were sleeping most of the day so I didn’t get to spend time with them.
I also visited a precious brand new baby and his mom. Poor mom is exhausted and tongue tied being cooped up there. This baby was so sweet. I helped her bathe him and kept the baby company when she needed to step away.
It was a nice day. I’m sure going to miss the munchkins for the next two weeks!
~Happy Friday 🙂
I wanted to give all my wonderful visitors old and new a SHOUT OUT 🙂 I hope everyone is enjoying getting ready for the holidays and new year! I am just about done with my christmas shopping! I do love christmas time! Hello, nice warm fire, hello hot cocoa. Hello hot tea with honey, hello extra blankets! However, I am happy to say after christmas I am going to Miami! Yay for warm weather !!!!
Wherever in the world you are, may you stay warm, happy, and healthy!!!!!
This week is pretty busy as I worked at the hospital today for a full 8hour shift. I go in again tomorrow for my regular afternoon shift and than on Thursday I go back for another full 8 hour shift. Busy-busy! I am super tired but I helped a few kids today! 🙂
My first kid was a 2-year-old boy who I visited about 3 weeks ago. He was more out of it last time. This time he was very antsy and needed a lot of attention. I played with him for a long time. The parents came back so grateful the mom gave me a hug for being there for their boy. I also spent some time with this sweet 11-year-old girl developmentally delayed and some other stuff I am unsure of. We did a lot of coloring and decorated her windows with all of her art work. I also visited this precious 8 month old baby boy who was all by himself for the day! He was such a good boy so alert and responsive to me when I was speaking to him. He was a very vocal little one. This little boy I couldn’t really touch because he’s in a crib but interacting with him talking he enjoyed. I love this gig, I really do!!!!
The 11-year-old little girl saw me as I was leaving the room wanted me to come back and color some more so I stayed with her some more. My body is thoroughly exhausted but it was a good day!
My mom keeps asking me what ages I like. I really like several of the ages. I love toddlers always have, always will. But I also like the 4-11 year olds. I haven’t had too much experience with the teens but the little that I have, I enjoyed as well. It’s just mostly been minimal work with teens.
Meanwhile this thursday I was supposed to babysit for my family friends. The little munchkin gets so excited to see me. When her mom put her on the phone she tells me, “miss you and I love you.” This little girl is just so precious!
I am so grateful to be there for all of these children! I am so grateful to know what I want to do!
