Happy New Year!!!!

Hey guys,

Its about that time again! 2013 is coming to an end in less than 6 hours!!!!

I seriously can’t believe all that has happened this year.

My parents surprised myself, my sister and brother-in law (soon) with a new years trip to Miami!

Tonight we’re going to our friend’s annual new years party! I went a few years ago it’s a nice party at their beautiful apartment with an awesome balcony view of the whole city. At midnight we all hang out on the balcony and watch fireworks.

So excited for a great year ahead!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello Everyone,

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

The holidays tend to be very tricky for eating healthy. I’m trying to keep my Paleo plan in mind. It shouldn’t be too bad since I can eat sweet potatoes, in moderation, and I can eat turkey and ham. I can eat pumpkin but I have to be careful because I can’t eat the whole pie I gotta be careful. I think I will make a salad as well. I can have pumpkin pie fresh fruit and nuts as well. I can’t have the string beans and fifty-million breads that will be staring me in the face, but hopefully it won’t be too hard to set it away from my side of the table.

I’m trying to focus and not be too bad! If I can do that, then by the time I weigh myself hopefully I will have lost another pound or so.

For those who celebrate Hanukah, Happy Hanukah!!!!!

~Have a great holiday everyone!!!

Happy April!

Hey guys,

So it has been a few days as Easter and school were distracting me.

My eating wasn’t too great this past week and I wasn’t as active as I should have been. Needless to say, I avoided weighing myself yesterday. BUT the good news is today is monday April 1st- I am starting FRESH.

I am back to normal more healthy and watching my points with weight watchers and will go back to weighing myself next sunday.

I hope every one had a nice EASTER and for my family in most holidays majority of the food around is carb city!

Anyway, for Easter this year my sister made amazing Noodle Pie

Can't celebrate Easter without deviled eggs!

That was just the beginning of the delicious madness!

Unfortunately we were all eating like it was our last supper so I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of the amazing Ravioli, Ham, and Meatballs but SO GOOD!!!

Obviously dessert was to die for so guilty I have no pictures of it either! We had blueberry pie, some ricotta pie, coconut custard pie, cookies, and tartufo. Everyone was sickeningly full.

It was a very nice day!

I am so grateful, however that it is April 1st- as I said I am starting fresh! 🙂 I’ll be eating better and using my present!

My parents gave me the awesome  Nike Plus FuelBand!

Nike plus FuelBand

Nike plus FuelBand

It so cool! You set up with your computer your own profile with your goals and it reads the fuel, or energy you use through the day. It counts your steps and activity all day and the calories you burn. This will be so great for me to work on my walking and losing weight and staying more and more active!!! Its lightweight, narrow, and looks nice on my wrist.

I’m still figuring things out with it but I’m so excited! There is even a way to share your accomplishments with friends and family! 🙂

Happy April All!!!

Valentines Day

Hey all,

Happy Valentines Day!

Ok here’s the thing… I really haven’t ever “celebrated” valentines day. I have gotten things but just so happens I haven’t dated on valentines day.

However honestly I do believe every day really should be showing our love for one another and ourselves.

So here it is… All you single and not single ladies- Love yourselves today!

Yes, Valentines day also is a day to show love to all those close to me such as my family and friends. But I think I will give myself this day.

I found an article from a while back that listed ‘ways to love yourself for valentines day’ I have decided to make my version…

1. Create a high-energy love-themed playlist. Give that mood a boost! 🙂
2. Appreciate the beautiful day you are about to have for yourself.
3. Eat Healthy Reds; Apples, Grapes, Raspberries, strawberries.
4. Wear what makes you feel beautiful inside and out whether a cozy sweatsuit or sexy lingerie.
5. Do things that make you go Ahhh… Pamper yourself
6. Watch your movie favorites
7. Change up your regular exercise routine.
8. Be thankful for who and what you are.
9. Enjoy!

Happy Holidays!!!

Hello all Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!!!

So here it is…

January 7th marked  7 months and I can say I am finally walking! On December 22 while I was doing physical therapy with my dad something came over me. I was practicing walking with table assistance and then my dad was encouraging me saying I got this I am walking I can do it. I slowly lifted my hand leaving space above the table and was able to do it!!!! I was so not sure what to do with myself I was so blown away that I was walking, all I could do was keep walking and cry. I cried pretty much all day and night and thanked god and everyone in my life for every bit of love and support they have shown me.
It is truly amazing that I beat 7 months, yes I am still in pain but I have come a long way. I am so very grateful!!!!!!!!

Christmas was nice and new years was a little strange but was nice overall, what  I have to say is;

SO LONG, FAREWELL 2012, HELLO 2013!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year all!

I hope you all had a happy new year!

Did everyone make their list of resolutions for 2012?!

This year I will be realistic. When I say realistic I mean when I plan to lose weight I don’t specify the exact pounds to lose. If I promise myself I’ll lose an exact number I am being unfair and unrealistic because I would just keep concentrating on the number which would set me up for failure. If I focus on missions to lose weight in general I have a better chance of success and in turn, the fact that I don’t specify exact pounds to lose I might like the way I look and feel at a weight that I wouldn’t have been okay with, if I didn’t reach the exact number planned. Here are my resolutions for 2012!

             Resolutions 2012

  • Focus on only the positive and if for a moment something upsetting occurs, think of a way to make it into a positive.
  • Move in my new apartment 😉
  • Eat healthier balanced diet
  • Keep up with the gym
  • Stay healthy (do not get sick)
  • Learn/ try something new
  • Start investing
  • Meet neighbors in new apartment
  • Save more money
  • Meet people
  • Have family and friends over for dinner
  • Lose weight
  • Cook healthy and more often

HoHoHo!

Merry Christmas everyone! I trust you all had a nice holiday!

Well, Christmas eve, was great. I arrived at my parents house around 9:00Pm. My cousin Ellen was there with her family, so that was a nice surprise! I usually don’t see her until Christmas day.We had chicken parmesan, spaghetti, string beans, and a few seafood dishes. We had all kinds of Christmas cookies on the table for dessert. Everything was delicious.  My dish was the chicken parmesan, minus the parmesan,  with string beans. I had a few cookies, 2 chocolate snowballs, 1 chocolate chip, 1 jelly/sugar, and a magic bar (Terry’s might be a bit disappointed).

During Christmas time and pretty much any holiday the food never ends!

Christmas morning my family started at around 9:00. My sister (Christie) her boyfriend and I each gave our gifts to each other and each of our parents. Then came our gifts. My parents as I have mentioned before, have always made Christmas so very special! They buy multiple presents and stack them in one pile for me and one for my sister. Now they truly don’t need to do this and it would still be so great! It is pretty amazing though, my parents regularly show us how they love. However, on Christmas time they love to go all out for each other,  which is so nice to see it expressed that way as well.

After Christie and I opened our presents we all sat together for egg casserole and bread for breakfast. The next round was watching my parents open gifts that they got for each other. It is so wonderful to watch that! Afterwards I baked my chocolate/butterscotch (minus the peppermint) bark. We then emptied our stockings starting with our dog Roxie’s. Roxie’s stocking was heavier than all of ours put together. I bought her a pink shirt that says I ❤ Miami Beach! The rest of her goodies were several treats. My family and I truly are obsessed with Roxie it is a sickness. Our dog before we got Roxie was Coconut. We have been blessed with two dogs with sharp great personalities! 🙂 Enough about that for now, stay tuned for more about silly Roxie next time:)

At 4:00 we headed to my Aunt Linda’s house in New York. There was traffic so we arrived there a bit late but there were still some people missing. However, you have to understand something with my family, especially during the holidays the eating is on-going, food just keeps on coming, so it doesn’t really make a difference what time you come.

My sister, Christie made her amazing pepperoni bread-SO good, my parents made a savory turkey, and there was macaroni and cheese, meatballs, bread, bread, bread, and more new food put out every time you blinked. For dessert we had several pies, apple, pumpkin, pecan, my bark, store-bought christmas cookies, chocolate cake, cheesecake, chocolate chip cookies, and I might be forgetting some others.

My cousins and I than revealed secret santas, which was nice and crazy, as usual but I enjoyed it. Everyone got some great gifts this year. I got some nice lotions and a gift card for Banana. More importantly we all got to see each other, everyone got a gift and seemed to all enjoy their gifts.

It was a wonderful weekend!  🙂 I kind of felt like one of santa’s helpers as it was a quick trip I appeared on saturday night and then disappeared, left last night the day after Christmas. I’m so glad I did it though! Back to the gym today after work!
